As we enter the holiday season, and as our attention turns towards remembering our friends, our families and those in need, we hope that you will consider including the Diplomatic Security Foundation (DSF) in your gift giving this year. The mission of DSF is to provide immediate and focused financial assistance to members of the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service and other colleagues in the law enforcement and foreign affairs communities. In many instances, DSF is uniquely poised to help where other worthy charitable organizations are not. Thanks to the generous support of our many donors, in 2008 DSF was able to provide more than $80,000 in financial assistance to those in the extended DS worldwide family who were coping with difficult and often tragic situations. In order to carry on our mission, we must continue to raise the money needed to do so. The Holiday Gift Program is one of our main fundraisers for the year. Gifts received during the final months of the year make up the majority of individual donations we receive each year.
