Recent Grants

When you donate to DSF, we use those funds to support our grants program. It is an honor to be able to help those in our world-wide DS “family” during times of hardship or crisis.

$2,500 to a local guard at US Embassy Pretoria (South Africa) who was injured in an armed robbery at his home. He has been with the embassy for 13 years.

$3,000 to a local guard at US Embassy Cairo (Egypt) to help cover the cost of a prosthetic needed after losing his lower leg while saving another person who had fallen in front of a coming train.

$5,000 for the family of a local guard at US Embassy Cairo (Egypt) who died of a heart attack while on duty. He was 47 years old and had been with the embassy for 17 years. He leaves behind a wife and 4 children, ages 7, 8, 18 and 22.  

$30,000 in scholarships to the eight recipients of the 2025 DSF Scholarship Award.

$1,500 for the family of a local guard/driver at US Embassy Tegucigalpa (Honduras) who was struck and killed by a drunk driver while returning home. He was 39 years old and leaves behind a wife and 4 year old child. 

$7,000 to the family of a local senior guard at US Embassy Bucharest (Romania) who passed away soon after being diagnosed with leukemia. He was 37 years old, had been with the embassy for 7 years, and left behind a wife and 3 week old child.
